Chair: David Gibbins ARPS EFIAP/b BPE5 APAGB (President of the PAGB) (UK)
Lorenzo De Francesco (AV Service Director of FIAP) (Italy)
Christine Widdall FBPE MPAGB EFIAP APAGB HonLCPU (UK)
Guidelines and Rules:
The Competition is for digitally-produced Audio Visual sequences with a sound-track, and has three categories:
Open: The choice is completely up to the author, and can include any style of sequence – eg Documentary, Travel, Theme, Nature etc.
Music, Poetry, Song: The sequence will illustrate a piece of Music, a Poem or a Song. This may be creative or strongly representative.
New for this year, AV Sans Frontières: To acknowledge the emerging genre of imagery generated by artificial intelligence (AI), we have introduced this category as an experimental section. Neither FIAP nor the PAGB allow AI generated images, so this new section will sit outside of the main Salon and entries will not be eligible for FIAP Acceptances nor FIAP/PAGB awards.
All entries will be judged; however, time may not allow all the sequences to be shown at the Public Show.
The 2025 event will take place as an on-line event via Zoom on the 24th & 25th May.
Details on how to view the event will be sent out nearer the time.
There will be a LIVE Gala Showing at Woodbury Village Hall on the 14th June 2025

11. All sequences will initially be scanned by a commercially available antivirus program.

17. Production of all sequences must be the original photographic work of the entrant, co-author(s) and collaborators. NOTE: AI use: No computer-generated pictorial image/s to be used in your sequence. The key principle is that all photographic elements in an image must be photographed by the author - e.g., a sky can be replaced for another one also photographed by the author, but not one created by AI or downloaded from another source. AI can be
used to sharpen, to cut out and assist with cloning and any other editing that does not include something not
included in the original image or composite.
18. Spoken commentary is not allowed, except in the case of a poem being narrated, and any text should be minimal.
Rules for the 'Open' section
19. This Section is an Open competition and the choice of subject is entirely at the author’s discretion.
20. Spoken commentary and text are permissible. Video clips may be included but should not dominate the AV. Decisions on this are at the discretion of the organisers.
21. Images must predominantly be the original work of the photographer/s credited with the sequence, but third-party images can be used where appropriate (e.g., for a historical documentary). NOTE: AI use: No computer-generated pictorial image/s to be used in your sequence. The key principle is that all photographic elements in an image must
be photographed by the author - e.g., a sky can be replaced for another one also photographed by the author,
but not one created by AI or downloaded from another source. AI can be used to sharpen, to cut out and assist
with cloning and any other editing that does not include something not included in the original image or composite.
