Devon Photographic Clubs' Print & Digital Battle 2018

This year Paignton Photographic Club hosted the event held on Saturday 12 May at St Pauls Church, Torquay Road, Preston, Paignton, TQ32DH and the judge was Tony Byram EFIAP ARPS AVPF DPAGB who did an excellent job in evaluating the panels and digital images. Only 10 clubs entered the prints panel section this year which is disappointing and 12 clubs entered the digital section.

The winning print panel was produced by Ivybridge with their panel called Nature in Motion, with Jet Ski Action by Paignton 2nd and Exmouth Photo Group came 3rd with their panel called Working with Updates. The winner for the set of digital images was Kingsbridge, Torbay were 2nd, Newton Abbot 3rd and we were close behind in 4th place giving us a H/C. Christine Chittock did well with her digital image called 3 Engines, she gained 20 points and a H/C Certificate. Well done Christine.

So its congratuations to our club, we are up their with the winners but will have to do better next year, get your thinking caps on. Torbay will be hosting the event in 2019, Plymouth in 2020 and Kingsbridge in 2021.

All our images are below and to give you an idea of other panels that were entered I took some quick snaps of their panels which can be seen here. Apologies for the quality, lighting was very poor.

Print Panel

Working on Updates Panel - The concept was producing images to look as though little people are working inside a computer to fix any problems. Old motherboards were used and some of the photographers took their own images in order to cut out and put into the scene. Other "workmen" were cut out from images taken by the image photographer
